A female student at the University of Nairobi has been arraigned in court over forgery.
Jane Njeri Karinge, a second year student at the University of Nairobi was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts today over allegations of altering a purchase order.
According to the charge sheet, Jane Karinge on 17th may 2019 altered Chandaria Industries LTD purchase order number 059867 with intent to deceive.
She purported the altered purchase order to be genuine a fact she knew to be false.
She denied the charges.
Mr. Danstan Omari representing the accused person pleaded with the Court to grant favorable bail terms considering the fact that the accused is a single mother, a second year student at the University and expecting her end of semester exams in a two weeks time.
However the Court released her on a bond Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
