120 new cases of the coronavirus have been recorded in Kenya, pushing Kenya’s tally to 6,190 confirmed cases – By Gerald Gekara.
In the recent statistics, Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman confirmed that, 115 of the new cases were Kenyans while five are foreigners.
In terms of counties, Nairobi continues to lead with (67) cases, Mombasa (17), Kajiado (9), Machakos (9), Kiambu (8), Uasin Gishu (6), while Nakuru and Narok each recording 2 cases.
Westlands continues to lead with (12), Dagoretti North & Langata (11) each, Kibra (6), Makadara & Starehe (4) each, Kamukunji (3), while Embakasi Central, Embakasi East, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi West & Mathare reporting (2) cases each. Kasarani, Roysambu, Ruaraka, & Umoja, have 1 case each.
Mombasa, cases are in Mvita (6), Jomvu (5), Changamwe, Kisauni & Likoni, (2) cases each. Kajiado, cases are in, Loitokitok, (6), & Kajiado North, (3). Machakos, cases are in Athi River (4), Machakos Town, (3) & Matungulu (2).
1 More person died with the virus, while 42 patients from various hospitals. This brings the total number of recoveries to 2,013, while the death tally further raised to 144.
The Ministry also continued to receive donations from the UNFPA and the Red Cross Society. Earlier on, the Kenya Medical Research Institute also donated 2500 pcs of sanitizers to special groups including health workers, the visually challenged and food handlers who are at higher risk of infections because of constant interaction with the public.
