152 more Kenyans among them a 2year old have tested positive for COVID 19 in the last 24hours bringing the total number of positive cases to 3574. Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman said the positive cases are from 3,503 samples with 116males while 36 are females. The CS further revealed that they have discharged 52 patients from the various hospitals in the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,164.
Unfortunately, 4 persons have succumbed to the virus in the last 24hrs taking the death toll to 100. Dr. Aman has further directed restaurants to close at 5.00 pm until the guidelines are reviewed so as to allow the workers to get home before the 9.00 pm night curfew.
As of Saturday 13th June, the CAS said 112,171 samples have been tested since the ministry started the testing process.
Among those who tested positive in the last 24hrs, 70 are from Nairobi, 41 from Mombasa, 16 from Busia, 9 from Kiambu, 4 from Kajiado, 3 from Machakos and Migori while Taita Taveta, Narok, Nakuru, and Uasin Gishu recorded 1 case each. In Nairobi, Embakasi area recorded 21 cases while the rest of the cases were spread across Starehe, Langata, Makadara, and Roysambu.
Cases in Mombasa were spread across; Nyaoli, Mvita, Changamwe, Kisauni, and Likoni. All the 16 cases in Busia were from Truckdrivers at the Malaba border. Dr. Aman urged Kenyans to remain vigilant in the fight against Coronavirus by observing prevention measures even as the number of cases continues to surge.
