CS Kagwe Rallies Vaccination As Kenya Gets More Doses

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has urged those who are yet to get vaccinated against Covid-19 to do so as the government ramps up vaccination efforts.

The call coming as the country received over 4.6 million Covid-19 vaccine doses on Monday evening in yet another boost to the ongoing accelerated vaccination campaign.

The consignment included a donation of 4.3 million J&J vaccine doses from the German government via the COVAX facility and an additional 400,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from Argentina.

Visitors entering the country after December 21st will be asked to present physical proof of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The new regulations barring the unvaccinated will apply to everyone over the age of 18 from affected countries.

“However, beginning December 21, 2021, this vaccination requirement will apply to all travellers coming into the country.” “All Kenyans travelling outside the country will face the same situation,” stated CS Kagwe.

In addition, all inbound travellers must have a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken 96 hours prior to entering the country.

He stated that the government has increased monitoring at all points of entry (POE) to guarantee that the new variant does not enter the country.
