CS Murkomen, Governor Waiguru Pledge Closer Cooperation in Fight Against Illicit Alcohol

Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, has underscored the importance of stronger collaboration between national and county governments in tackling security and social challenges.

In a post on his official X account, Murkomen said he paid a courtesy call on Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru during his Jukwaa La Usalama tour of the county. The discussions, he noted, focused on enhancing cooperation to boost service delivery and ensure safer communities.

The CS emphasized that joint efforts between county administrations and security agencies are critical in addressing pressing issues, particularly the fight against illicit alcohol and drug abuse, which continue to pose significant risks to public health and safety.

Murkomen reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working hand in hand with devolved units to safeguard communities, adding that collaboration remains central to achieving lasting solutions in security and development.
