CS Nakumicha Launches Health Projects In Kwale County

According to Nakhumicha, the facilities are intended to improve maternal and neonatal health care as well as general resident treatment.

Residents of Kwale County reap big in President Ruto’s administration as Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha launched several projects in the county.

The CS on Saturday launched at least six projects; a 60-bed female ward, a Liquid Oxygen tank, a paediatric unit, an Oxyegn plant, a modern drug storage facility, and a Reverse Osmosi Plant at the Msambweni Referal Sub-county hospital.

The new projects will transform and improve the region’s health services.

According to Nakhumicha, the facilities are intended to improve maternal and neonatal health care as well as general resident treatment.

She said locals would be able to access improved and affordable health services on their doorsteps.

She said the hospital will be able to offer high-quality dialysis, and laboratory services to combat diseases and save lives.

“The Reverse osmosis plant will help produce clean water for dialysis, laboratory, and consumption,” she said.

The oxygen plant will also play a key role for patients who have breathing problems.

Previously, the county used to rely on Mombasa to refill the oxygen cylinders which was expensive and time-consuming.

Nakhumicha said the government gave an additional 305 oxygen cylinders that will assist in promoting health services.

She said no patient would die for lack of oxygen because it is produced and easily accessible within the health facility.

Nakhumicha was accompanied by the Blue Economy CS Salim Mvurya his Energy counterpart Davis Chirchir and the county boss Governor Fatuma Achani.
