CS Tuya: Youth Role In Climate Action Is Critical

    Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya today addressed youth leaders at their pavilion in Sharm el-Sheikh Egypt.

    She lauded the youth for raising their voice and championing the youth agenda for Climate Justice during the COP27 conference.

    “The youth are very critical in environmental interventions due to their energy, zeal and tech-savvy advantage hence should not be left out,” the CS said.

    She said that she will involve the youth in the tree planting campaign, as Kenya strives to meet the 10 % National Tree planting campaign target.

    The youth expressed their willingness to participate in climate actions and interventions.

    She was accompanied by the chair of the Council of Governors H. E Ann Waiguru, Vihiga Governor H.E Wilberforce Otichilo, Nakuru Governor H.E Susan Kihika and the Environment Principal Secretary nominee Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno.
