Azimio Lawyer Wanted By DCI Over Matiang’i Raid ‘Hoax’

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned lawyer Danstan Omari in connection with an alleged police raid at former Interior Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s residence.

Detective Michael K. Sang, a superintendent of police at DCI headquarters, asked that the lawyer reports to DCI headquarters on Wednesday, February 22, without fail.

According to the officer, he is “investigating allegations of Publication of False Information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018, amongst other offenses, in relation to the alleged invasion and raid of the former Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Co-ordination, Dr. Fred Matiang’i’s residence on the 8th and 9th of February 2023 allegedly by a “battalion” and/or “garrison” of police officers.”

“I have reasons to believe that you, Danstan Omari, an Advocate of the High court of Kenya, are connected to the offense or have information that can assist me in my investigations,” he said.
