The Azimio coalition’s quest to replace Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo as Senate Minority whip has been thwarted after a court temporarily blocked the move.
Senate Deputy Speaker Kathure Murungi stated that Speaker Amason Kingi has been barred from making the amendments by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
“I hereby suspend delivery of the communication until the case has been heard and decided,” Murungi stated.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Speaker was anticipated to make the decision to dismiss Dullo as the minority whip.
Dullo was slated to be replaced by Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who has been acting as her deputy.
