DCI Arrests suspects who conned JKUAT lecturer over 500,000 shillings

Four suspects have been arrested in Mombasa by Flying Squad Detectives, after defrauding a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Lecturer Ksh. 567,000/-

According to the DCI, the lecturer got into a deal to assist him ship in his choice car. Posing as an Agent of Beforward Car Importers (Japan) one of the suspects who identified himself as Martin, enticed the victim into depositing the amount to an account in a local bank-NCBA Bank, to avoid delays in the dispatch of the consignment.

He was further requested to send in another 432, 000 shillings, leading to the suspicious lecturer reporting the matter to the DCI.

Detectives apprehended Bonface OKUMU (aged 32), James Maina MUHINDI-32yrs), 31-yr-old Eric ONYANGO and Hesbon OTIENO (40yrs).

The DCI continues to Caution Members of the Public against engaging in Online Transactions with Companies, Agencies and/or Individuals they have no credible information about, in a bid to eradicate online fraud & protect the benefits of their toil & sweat.
