University student files a 10 Million shilling lawsuit against Equity bank for using his song

BY FAITH MUTETE – Eric Obiero Nyadida, a journalism student who claims to have composed a popular song used by Equity, has sued the bank for failing to pay over Sh 10 million pledge according to the agreement they had.

He is asking the High Court to issue a restraining order on Equity Bank (Kenya) Limited and Equity Group Foundation (EGF) from using his piece of music in any of its advertisements on the internet, television, radio or any other media to popularise its EGF Wings to Fly project pending determination of the suit.

Eric says the bank has been using his content without him benefiting from it and wants cost for the case.
