DCI cracks whip on Ruto allies over Murang’a clashes

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have summoned Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Kandara legislator Alice Wahome over Sunday’s chaos in Murang’a County that has so far left 2 people.

DCI has directed the duo who were part of the fundraiser, to appear before their offices in Nyeri and assist police with investigations.

A clash between rival groups ended the lives of two protesters, at Kenol, Murang’a county where DP Ruto was to hold a fundraiser and later address a rally at the town.

Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai had on Sunday evening ordered for the immediate arrest of the two MPs accusing them of mobilizing goons to cause mayhem.

Ndindi Nyoro dared the IG Mutyambai to apologize to Kenyans over the debacle.

“You have the systems to find out whoever did this crime. Delegate resources and find out who ferried the youth, and who directed Police to lob teargas into the church.” Nyoro said in a press briefing.
