IEBC Counters ‘Edited’ Ballot Paper Claim

Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu also noted that the form had been signed on August 7th, 2022.

There was confusion at the Supreme Court as the IEBC Lawyers present before the Court an original form 34A which appears to have been signed days before the August 9 polls.

The paper was given to the court by IEBC attorney Mahat Somane.

However, the petitioner’s legal team were quick to identify the crucial anomaly which according to them it is a figure print that indeed the election was not free, fair and verifiable.

Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu also noted that the form had been signed on August 7th, 2022.

The said form was produced in rebuttal to Julie Soweto’s evidence tabled before the Apex Court on Friday, August 2 in support of their petition.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s attorney attempted to refute Julie Soweto’s claim that the form she submitted in court was a part of the paperwork they were in charge of.
