Over 90% of cholera victims are not residents of Machakos county.
Addressing mourners in Kyeleni ward Matungulu sub-county, Machakos County Deputy governor Francis Mwangangi says the significant percentage is from people travelling from other counties and visiting Machakos county.
Mwangangi has urged residents to ensure they maintain hygiene, like boiling water before drinking, washing fruits before eating and vegetables before cooking.
The vocal DG has confirmed to hold a meeting with KWS officials, noting that there has to be a mutual understanding between the locals and ol-Donyo-sabuk Kilimambogo national park.
His sentiments come barely three days after the mountain caught fire and trees were destroyed as the leadership accused locals of charcoal burning on the hill.
