Information Communications and The Digital Economy PS Eng. John Tanui has this morning expressed the need to enhance connectivity within Ministries and State Departments in government as part of digitalization efforts.

At a courtesy visit to his Devolution counterpart PS Teresia Mbaika at her office in Nairobi, Eng. Tanui made a comment about the need for both levels of government to implement the digitalization agenda in order to provide citizens with effective service.

He mentioned how, in partnership with the TVETs in the counties, the Ministry of Information Communications and The Digital Economy had developed Wi-Fi zones inside county market areas as part of the Village Digital Hubs project and the Jitume Labs program.

The PS acknowledged the numerous requests for IT management assistance from county governments to help with operations and promised to house a team of ICT professionals inside the State Department for Devolution to occasionally assist the counties through stronger cooperation.
