DNA tests ordered by a Nairobi Court has proved that Late Matungu legislator Justus Murunga fathered a child with an enstranged lover.
The paternity test that was presented in court, confirmed that the late Matungu MP fathered one of two children, as claimed by Agnes Wangui.
The test that was carried out by Crystal Lab Pathologists confirmed the DNA profile of the daughter corresponds to Murunga’s by 99.9 per cent.
“From the DNA profiling, the MP is the one who sired the 3-year-old girl while he is excluded from being the father of the 7-year-old boy,” the report states.
Lawyer Danstan Omari will file a succession suit to have the daughter inherit Murunga’s estate alongside other beneficiaries.
Agnes had applied for the deceased body be preserved until DNA samples have been collected in the presence of licensed pathologists appointed by both parties.
She had wanted her children to be involved in the burial arrangements and the actual burial.
“I have known Murunga for seven years. Our first encounter was in 2013 when he was a supervisor at Embakasi ranching, while I was a business woman engaged in selling beverages and snacks within Sewerage area, Ruai,” she says.
Wangui said out of the relationship that began in 2013 the two bore a child and the late member of parliament took responsibility to house them in a rental apartment in Ruai.
