Rigathi Gachagua, the deputy president, told the crowd in Murang’a that Mt. Kenya made the right choice in electing H.E. William Ruto.
He continued by saying that despite threats, pressure, and the dissemination of conflicting information, they remained loyal to the chosen president.
“We made the right decision, we never made a mistake, we were being threatened, pushed and told different things, but we said we are righteous people, we are Christians,” said the Deputy President.
He added, ” William Ruto has not wronged us, he has shown us friendship and love, and we settled for him and gave him all our votes without a written agreement, and where we are now we have seen we made the right decision and we will move forward.”
Gachagua continued by praising the president for integrating the people of Mount Kenya in his government and keeping all of his promises to them.
“There are many other things we have an agreement on regarding the price of coffee, tea, and milk, and also the hustler fund, and how our president has started fulfilling his promises to us,” said Gachagua.
He also thanked the president for putting an end to political scheming and deceit since Mt Kenya trusted him without a written contract to do so and he delivered.
