DP William Ruto ally Senator Johnstone Muthama has said he will launch a party to challenge Kalonzo Musyoka in Ukambani – By Henry Kimoli.
Muthama, who lately fronts for Ruto in Ukambani accused Wiper Supremo Kalonzo Musyoka of conferring g benefits to his son and sister in law.
He said the nomination of Kenneth Kalonzo to EALA assembly and nomination of Jane Muasya to the Nairobi County assembly is evidence of nepotism.
Muthama, credited with auctioning the Kamba community to Raila Odinga in 2013 and 2017 now firmly backs Ruto.
The former Kalonzo confidant- now a bitter ally claims that the Wiper Leader has converted the party into a personal fortune vehicle- and vowed to smoke Kalonzo out.
He claims he vacated the Wiper Party in 2017, and scoffed at allegations to expel him.
“I left Kalonzo long time ago after realising that Wiper had no future.
But Kitui MP Makali Mulu termed the Muthama allegations as antics of a bitter man and dared him to form a parallel party.
“Muthama is one of the many opportunists who have used Kalonzo’s name to make a fortune. He has no shame”, Mulu said.
He said the Wiper Party was rebranding “just like the rest of Kenya” and said Muthama is free to pursue other interests.
The Muthama tirades comes amid a clamour in Wiper to do away with deadwoods in the Party.
