The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate Dr. William Ruto has called on the European Union (EU) to investigate missing votes in IEBC ahead of the August 9 general elections.
Speaking during a meeting with the EU ambassadors in Nairobi, DP Ruto said that they were ready to work with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure that they deliver credible elections.
“We expect that everybody who is concerned including the EU to try and get as much detail as possible both from the IEBC and from these public officials on what this all is about and how did close to a million names disappear from the register and many of those names are people from what we consider our strongholds so there is a clear attempt to try some monkey games,” the DP stated.
The DP also noted that those attempts are deeply worrying Kenyans because certain public officials are boasting that they have the system and the state in place to manipulate elections.
He was speaking in reference to statements by Karanja Kibicho and Joe Mucheru, who have claimed Azimio Raila will win the 2022 elections.
Ruto claimed such sentiments will be thwarted by the electorates, whom he has severally claimed, are out of touch with the government.
