Deputy President William Ruto has apologized to President Uhuru Kenyatta for their long-standing feud.
Speaking at the 19th National Prayer Breakfast in Nairobi, Ruto admitted that he had fallen short of expectations as Uhuru’s deputy and that he was working to mend fences with Uhuru as the latter prepares to retire.
“I also know that serving as deputy president I may have fallen short of expectations of my boss, his excellence president, my good friend, I ask for your forgiveness,” Ruto said.
The Kenya Kwanza presidential aspirant said he also forgives the president and anyone else who has wronged him as they are all humans.
“I know also in this journey many people have hurt me but on this prayer breakfast I forgive them, I forgive everybody. I want us to go in this election free of the debt of heat and free of the debt of forgiveness,” he added.
