Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) Noordin Haji

Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has made major reorganisations in his office, geared at providing better services. – By Gerald Gekara.

Haji met his Senior Management team to discuss the priority areas which they are expected to implement in the next 3 years.

The reorganisation has seen the creation of an additional Department; the Inspectorate and Quality Assurance to oversight and ensure delivery of quality prosecution service.

The roles of the new departments are to develop and ensure the enforcement of performance standards that promote effective management of public prosecutions.

The assurance department will also oversight the performance standards of State Prosecutors and Attorneys.

The overall performance of the ODPP is determined by the quality of prosecutions which the body has handled. So far, the state prosecutor has managed a 90.2% conviction rate.
