Police officers in Butere Sub-County have arrested a suspected drug trafficker after recovering a large consignment of cannabis from his residence.

The arrest followed a tip-off that led officers to a homestead in Ebushitinji village, Lunza division, where the suspect, identified as Dennis Obera, was apprehended.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody at Butere Police Station, where he is being processed ahead of his court appearance.

During a search of the premises, officers recovered five sacks of cannabis sativa weighing approximately 155 kilogrammes.

The recovered narcotics have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.
