Drunk Cop Takes Off With An Occurrence Book, Threatens Public

A police officer attached to Kikuyu Police Station in Kiambu County was apprehended after stealing the Occurrence Book (OB).

Constable Marcel Wekesa, who is suspected of being drunk, arrived at the station at 7 p.m. as the night guard but left two and a half hours later.

“He was arrested for harassing members of the public and cocking the rifle while threatening to shoot them.”

The officer in question was disarmed and led to the station, where he was booked.

“After a while, the said officer grabbed the Occurrence book from the report desk and fled towards Kikuyu town,” according to a police report.

His colleagues pursued him and recovered the OB book in the Makutano area.

For the past three years, the National Police Service has expressed concern about officers who are mentally ill.
