EAC Boss Mathuki Calls For Live Coverage of Activities

The Secretary General of the East African Community Dr. Peter Mathuki now wants Kenya Broadcasting Corporation(KBC) to enhance coverage of its activities.


Mathuki says as the national broadcaster, KBC has a duty to synthethise the integration process through mainstreaming of publicity.


Essentially, the EAC boss wants KBC to lead other national broadcasters in sensitising the EAC community on the ground so far covered.


He was speaking in his office at Arusha, Tanzania after receiving a KBC delegation.


Mathuki said the East African Legislative Assembly(EALA) the East African Court of Justice and the various tariffs are some of the key issues that need to be covered.


He was speaking during a meeting of a KBC delegation led by Managing Director Dr. Naim Bilal and Director Charles Mulila.
Justice Nestor Kayobero, the President of the East African Court of Justice said EAC integration is fully on course and called for deliberate efforts, to fast truck it.

Justice Kayobero said the three arms of EAC were working well to deliver on the EAC charter and mandate. “Right now the Chair is in Kenya. Its institution are substantive line chairman of various initiatives such as broadcasting and publicity”, he said.
