On Monday, the body of a young woman was discovered inside a well in Embu.
The 24-year-old woman, identified as Josephine Karimi, worked as a secretary at the Catholic Women Association (CWA), where the body was found.
The woman’s father, Simon Kivuti Gatumu, described how his daughter, whom they thought was lost, was discovered in the well.
“My daughter went to work on Wednesday, June 28, but she did not return home. The search for her started on Thursday after I was told she did not report to work yet her phone was off,” he said.
Gatumu stated that police were called on Saturday and that his daughter’s body was later discovered in a well in the church compound.
The bereaved father requested that the church’s father-in-charge ensure security in the area.
“I would request the father in charge to take the mandate and ensure the safety of the people working here,” he added.
