Raila Odinga, was today received in Murang’a county, where he is the Chief Guest at the Skiza Thanksgiving Ceremony in Gatanga.
Raila is expected to speak alongside the region’s political leaders like Woman Representative Sabina Chege, Governor Mwangi wa Iria, and Royal Media Services Chairman SK Macharia.
The ODM leader has begun actively assembling his 2022 political machine in order to secure his bastions and expand his area.
Raila recently sponsored a breakfast meeting in Mombasa with Mt Kenya leaders, including National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya.
His strategy includes conquering Central Kenya, an area that has consistently voted against him in subsequent elections.
Maina Kamanda, a veteran city politician, MPs Jude Njomo (Thika Town), Kanini Kega (Kieni), Peter Mwathi (Limuru), and CAS Rachael Shebesh are among his supporters.
His campaign is spirited by the revelation that outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta may support his candidature for the top seat.
The vote-rich region which for the first time going to the polls without a formidable leader, is currently taking center stage in the fight for votes.
Musalia Mudavadi, Gideon Moi, and William Ruto have since visited various parts of the region to scout for votes.
