A middle aged man has been arraigned in court and charged with obtaining money by false pretence contrary to the Law.

Joseph Bushuru Etindi is said to have defrauded Gilbert Kipkurui Milgo Ksh 2,495,000 pretending to be in a position to procure medical supplies.

The prosecution submitted that Mr. Etindi approached Gilbert between March 9 and May 10, 2021 and introduced himself as a medical supplier duly registered before proceeding to dupe the complainant that he was in a position to supply vials for intravenous injections.

Mr. Gilbert made a down-payment of Ksh 2.495m for the supply to be effected by the accused person.

It is further submitted that after the payment, Mr. Etindi disappeared into thin air.

The complainant therefore reported the case to the DCI leading to arrest of the suspect.

However , Mr Etindi denied particulars of the case before Magistrate Susan Shitubi of Milimani Law Courts.

He was released on a personal bond of Ksh 400,000 with an alternative Cash bail of Ksh 100,000.

The case proceeds on April 26, 2022 for pretrial.
