The High Court has directed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and the DPP to file a written consent to withdraw the case which he sought to stop his prosecution.

The direction comes after DPP informed Justice Kanyi Kimondo that his office had written to the DCI directing them to stop further investigations against the former CS.

Dr. Matiang’is Lawyer Danstan Omari, informed the court that DPP through a press release directed the DCI to close the investigations.

Further, DPP ordered a stop of further police action on the matter.

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions told the Judge that indeed they had written to the DCI on the matter and requested a week to file a consent on withdrawal of the case.
