10 people have fully recovered from Coronavirus and discharged from the hospital bringing the total of recoveries in Kenya to 22.
Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe announced on Friday that the two individuals tested negative twice thus rendering them fully recovered cases.
However, Kenya has confirmed 5 more positive cases of Covid-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 189.
The 5 individuals are all Kenyans between the age of 27-58 years and only one had history of travel from Dubai while the rest are from Nyandarua,Mombasa and Nairobi.
So far 100,000 doctors have received training on handling COVID-19 patients and 4,000 doctors have further benefitted from e-based training. Kagwe said the country will be able to have 600 tests carried out in a day using automatic machines which will show results instantly without waiting for long hours.
During the briefing, the CS said KPLC will now fast track the connectivity of 3-phase power connections to counties so as to ensure machines that are not yet effective in some specific counties can start working and therefore increase capacity to deal with covid-19.
The CS has issued a stern warning to Kenyans who are still using cash transactions saying they are in danger of being easily exposed to the disease. He has encouraged the use of mobile money transfers which are readily available.
Further, Kenyans are required to ensure they properly dispose of their face masks. The ministry of health has liaised with the county government on the protocol to be followed in disposing of the masks.
Kagwe urged Kenyans to take personal responsibility in disposing of the masks to avoid further spread of the disease.
