The Prosecution has lined up 42 witnesses to testify in a case where Migori Governor Okoth Obado is charged alongside two others with the murder of Rongo Universuty student Sharon Otieno.
The case is set for hearing on December 2 and 3 this year kicking it off with two witnesses under witness prosecution.
The Governor alongside Michael Oyamo, his Personal assistant and Caspal Obiero a clerk in Migori County took plea in September last year and denied killing the 26 year old Sharon and her seven month unborn baby.
Obado was released in November 2018 on a cash bail of Sh5million with two sureties of the same amount while Oyamo and Obiero were denied bail but later appealed the decision and were released on Sh1million cash bail each.
Justice Jessie Lessit had denied Oyamo and Obiero bail on grounds that the prosecution had a strong case against them and that they were likely to interfere with witnesses if releases.
Sharon went missing on 3rd September, 2019 and was later found dead near Kodera Forest in Homabay County with postmortem conducted on her body revealing that she had been stabbed eight time, raped and strangled.
Governor Obado was said to have been in a relationship with Sharon before her death.
