The Kenyan government has prioritized accelerating digital transformation to achieve sustainable, inclusive, and resilient digital economies.

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani promised the development of an integrated ICT infrastructure for the digital world in his remarks at the ongoing ITU Radio Communications Conference 2023.

In order to conduct a vital policy conversation about radio communication services, the national government authorities have partnered with ICT regulatory agencies, other stakeholders, and important global radio communications users and suppliers.

The PS also mentioned how Kenya is embracing information and communication technologies in a revolutionary way. He highlighted the recognition of the importance of ICTs in accelerating economic growth and advancing the digital economy in Kenya Vision 2030, National ICT Policy 2020, and Kenya National Digital Master Plan 2022–2032.

In order to harmonise spectrum requirements for mobile, fixed broadcasting, aeronautical space, marine, and other services, Prof. Kisiang’ani asked EACO member nations to collaborate.

“To engender global conversations on ICTs,” he said: “the Government of Republic of Kenya remains committed to engaging all EACO administrations through favourable support at this December conference. “He further reiterated that his country would lend its expertise and support activities related to ITU so that no one would be left behind in their pursuit of technological advancement.
