The government has highlighted the completion of the Kamukunji Amphitheatre and Recreation Grounds in Kamukunji Constituency, marking a key milestone under President William Ruto’s Urban Renewal Programme.

According to State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed’s official X page, the upgraded facility now features a cultural centre, library, and modern sports amenities, including basketball, soccer and boxing facilities.
“Promise made. Promise delivered,” Hussein stated, describing the project as part of ongoing efforts to improve public spaces and community infrastructure within urban areas.

He added that additional developments are in the pipeline, including a riverfront, markets and green parks aimed at enhancing both economic activity and quality of life for residents.
The project forms part of a broader government initiative focused on urban regeneration, youth engagement and the expansion of accessible recreational and cultural spaces.
