Siaya County police are investigating the death of a one-and-a-half-year-old kid whose body was discovered at Mudurme stream in Komolo sub-location inside Alego-Usonga sub-county.
The body of a child who went missing from the Kisar village last week was discovered on Wednesday morning by a villager on his way to the farm.
According to the Assistant Chief of Komolo sub-location, the boy had been reported missing by his mother, Stacy Achieng’.
He claims, however, that they assume the 19-year-old mother is to blame for her son’s death since the boy is claimed to have gone missing after the mother was overheard stating she could get rid of him.
Orwenyo reported that their early investigations during the child’s abduction revealed that Stacy (the boy’s mother) had a disagreement with her mother (the boy’s grandmother) on the day of the child’s disappearance.
The administrator indicated that Stacy was overheard indicating that she could even get rid of the kid that day, before he went missing.
While confirming the discovery of the body at the stream, Orwenyo stated that the body has since been moved to Siaya County Referral hospital mortuary to await postmortem and that Stacy, who is still at large will also be picked to help the police with investigations.
