Details are emerging that licensed gun owners are involved in crime syndicates in Kenya. This follows the killing of a shadowy businessman by an equally mysterious man Robert Bodo Ouko on Friday night.
Kevin Omwenga was shot in his bedroom by Ouko, an associate in gold trade in Kilimani area. Omwenga was on the radar of elite police officers over shady businesses including dealing on fictitious gold at JKIA, Dubai and Kilimani.
There are concerns in the security circles over the operations of gun owners, some better trained in handling weapons than the police.
Its now in the public domain that some gun owners are better marksmen than some elite police other than the presidential guards and snipers drawn from special forces.
