Health Ministry has been put to task to explain Homabay’s coronavirus case, where a group of fake mourners were intercepted on their way to a funeral.
While speaking to local media stations, Health DG, Dr. Patrick Amoth refuted claims that they had held Kelvin (the driver) and his passengers falsely, while confirming that they were indeed Covid-19 positive.
Kelvin, has reached out to many media stations telling his side of the story that conflicts the governments narrative.
The 26 year old driver says he was picked up by health officials and forcefully whisked away to the Kenya Medical Training College for mandatory quarrantine and testing.
While announcing the ordeal, Health minister, Mutahi Kagwe’s story was that the driver was in the company of other mourners, and failed to provide authentic documents to authorities.
The Health DG insisted that the patient was positive, despite being asymptomatic, but said the patients had to be kept in hospital to avoid the risk of contaminating other members of the public.
