Three individuals armed with machetes were apprehended yesterday as they planned to carry out assaults on vehicles on the southern bypass.
Brian Mwangi, 25, and Nickson Muchiri, 25, were apprehended after a well-planned operation by Langata Police Officers.
A third suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was apprehended as he ran to the neighboring Ngong woodland to avoid capture. In the careful operation performed by the authorities, two motorbikes used by the crooks as a means of escape were also confiscated.
Their arrest comes on the heels of a slew of assault on motorists along the major roadway.
The suspects will be arraigned in court today to answer to charges of preparing to commit a felony, contrary to section 308 (1) of the penal code.
