International Girls in ICT will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary this year.
The event is marked on the World ICT Day https://www.itu.int/women-and-girls/girls-in-ict celebrates girls and young women by encouraging them to pursue studies and careers in the technology sector.
The Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, through the Chief Administrative Secretary Maureen Mbaka will join the global community in celebrating the day by hosting a virtual event through Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) on Thursday, April 22nd,2021.

According to ITU, girls across the world tend to outperform boys in reading and writing skills, yet they continue to be under-represented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Through International Girls in ICT Day, the organization is working with partners to build awareness about the gender digital divide, support technology education and skills training, and encourage more girls and young women to actively pursue careers in STEM.
