By 1 p.m., some of the presidential candidates and their families had arrived at the venue.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will announce the presidential election results on August 15, 2022, at 3 p.m.

The IEBC invited the media to cover the historic event in Bomas, Kenya, where the winner of the 2022 General Elections will be announced.

By 1 p.m., some of the presidential candidates and their families had arrived at the venue.

Roots Party’s George Wajackoyah and Agano’s David Mwaure had already taken their seats in the Bomas auditorium.

Azimio la Umoja candidate Raila Odinga as well as United democratic Alliance (UDA) are expected to be in the venue.

Various players including politicians, observers and diplomats are also currently present at Bomas.

Kenyans went to the ballot on August 9 to elect their leaders for the next five years.

The elective positions are six, including; President, Governor, Senator, National Assembly, Woman Representative and Members of County Assembly.

Even as Kenyans await the results, the winning presidential candidate must have garnered 50% + 1 and more than 24% of the vote in at least 24 counties, according to the constitution.
