Simba Arati calls for arrest of Gachagua for allegedly impregnating, killing university student

Is this propaganda or a legitimate attempt to serve justice to a family of a dead university student?

Kisii Governor Simba Arati claims that impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua killed his college girlfriend and bribed the family with Sh.700,000 has shocked the world.

No evidence. No nothing. Only lofty words. His words against the impeached DP.

The accusation targets Regina Wairimu, a 22-year-old engineering student who died in February 2023 amid a police probe into a possible forced abortion, with unverified social media claims linking Gachagua as the father.

The family of the girl has maintained a studious silence as the death of their star skyrockets to a political theatre.

This comes after President William Ruto stunned the public after making explosive allegations against his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of being involved in the killing of a university student he allegedly impregnated.

Speaking in Busia County during his three-day tour of the Western region, Ruto did not hold back. He claimed that his former deputy, whom he also labelled a thief, impregnated a young university student before allegedly orchestrating her murder to conceal the affair.

“You cannot mislead this nation. A character with no morals. A character who manipulated the will of his own brother. You, cold-blooded murderer. Mtu ambaye ametia watoto wadogo mimba wenye rika ya watoto wake. Alafu anawaua. You are a cold-blooded murderer and thief,” Ruto declared.

In his rebuttal, Gachagua stated that he would not engage with social media propaganda aimed at tarnishing his name.

Instead, he emphasized that he is willing to debate the president on more substantial issues, such as allegations of misappropriating private entities like Nairobi Hospital and public utilities, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Bomas of Kenya.

“Sisi hatuwezi jibu wewe propaganda ya social media; tunataka kuku engage vile uliuwa Gen Z, mambo ya Nairobi Hospital na JKIA,” Gachagua said.
