Sections of Uhuru Highway have been closed to pave way for the installation of concrete beams for the Nairobi wexpressway project. – By Philip Kitune.
The contractor, China Road and Bridge Construction, are in a race against time to complete the multibillion infrastructure that will alliviate traffic jams on the busy highway.
Motorists and other road users have been treated to extended traffic jams as a result of this new diversion on Bunyala Roundabout.
Vehicles accessing the CBD are using the Bunyala-Lower hill road to Haile Selassie avenue while those coming from the City center are using a diversion that was paved by the CRBC.
This according to the Kenya Highways Authority is to avoid putting motorists in danger of construction site accidents and heavy earth movers.
