BY FAITH MUTETE – 15,000 elderly folks are going to benefit come next year from the government in its move to transfer money from people who have passed away to those who are still in the Inua Jamii scheme.
Social protection Principal Secretary Nelson Marwa gave an assurance Yesterday that the ministry will ensure that the slots would be filled by eligible beneficiaries from the areas where the vacancies exist.
So far, there are 13000 beneficiaries of the scheme who have passed on and 2000 who have exited the program to other ones.
According to an article in the Business Daily, a total of 1,092, 195are currently benefiting by getting 8,000, which covers the four months to October 2019.
