JKUAT Student Commits Suicide After Failing To Graduate

A second body was discovered in the apartment of a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture Technology student in Juja, Kiambu County, after an apparent suicide.

According to preliminary findings, Irene Monica Mwangi, 26, a fourth-year student at the school of business computing, hanged herself after failing to graduate.

Her body was discovered in the door frame of her bathroom in a Juja apartment.

A piece of cloth was discovered around the neck and is being forensically examined.

This occurred on June 28, when other students who had completed their studies graduated.

She had expressed her dissatisfaction with her inability to graduate to her friends.

Police stated that they were called to the scene on the same day as the graduation and discovered the body. In the room, a suicide note was discovered. The contents were distributed to the family.

On June 25, the body of Lenny Jessy Masiaga, 22, was discovered hanging in his room in Juja, Kiambu County.

His girlfriend, who had gone to see him, discovered his body.

According to police, the deceased had a stab wound in the chest and hanged himself with a laptop cable.

The police investigating the case said they want to establish if the student committed suicide or was killed.

According to the girlfriend, the deceased was scheduled to graduate on June 28, when the institution holds its 38th graduation ceremony, but he was upset because he did not receive all of his marks.

The incidents are under investigation.
