The death of 1600 people in Spain and Italy must act as a wake-up call to Kenyans on the threat of the Coronavirus.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has warned Kenyans to take the pandemic seriously and desist from the casual nature some had adopted.
He said all agencies of the Government are working together to eliminate spread and called on political leaders to support the quarantine measures issued by the Government.
“We urge the political class to desist from issuing statements that undermine Government efforts to combat the pandemic”, Kagwe said.

Mutahi thanked Brenda Irwin Cherotich for coming out to seek treatment after realizing they were unwell.
Mutahi said the 22 new cases had been isolated, thwarting the possibility of further spread.
He said contact tracing has been enhanced in the few remaining cases and said a United approach will fully control the pandemic. had turned negative.
The CS said in the last 24 hours, 300 people have been tested. The highest number of people to be tested at one time.
22 patients were found to be positive, with 13 of the infected being male, while 9 of the tested are female.

In terms of the Nationalities, 18 of the recently announced cases are Kenyans, 2 Pakistanis, and 2 Cameroonians.
All these are had arrived through the airport in the last one week.
“The fact that 21 of these cases were found in quarantine, shows the extent of the success of government measures to contain the spread of the deadly virus” Health CS said.
