Kalonzo Offers To Mediate Wanjigi-Kinoti Standoff

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has volunteered to mediate a truce between Jimmy Wanjigi, a presidential candidate in 2022, and George Kinoti, the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Kalonzo, who was joined by ODMs Wanjigi at the AIC Daystar on Sunday for a church service, was referring to the DCI boss’s recent imprisonment by the High Court for a cache of guns recovered from Wanjigi’s residence in 2017.

Wanjigi, according to Kalonzo, should have a greater heart, especially since he is running for President of Kenya in the forthcoming elections.

The latest development comes just days after the DCI chief was sentenced to four months in prison for contempt of court for failing to return a stash of guns confiscated from the wealthy wheeler dealer.

His destiny now depends on a decision that will be made today.
