KCSE 2021: Inmates Applaud 74-year-old Candidate

Grapton Mukopi, 74, the oldest inmate to sit for the KCSE exams in the Naivasha Maximum Security Prison, scored 10 points (E).

After the results were released on Saturday, there was cause for celebration at the prison, as another inmate, Isaac Sitati, scored 36 points (C-) despite facing a slew of challenges. 

11 of the 16 inmates who took the exams received a D or higher.

Despite the poor performance, inmates and warders expressed confidence in their ability to perform better in the coming days, despite the new challenges.
