KDF General Appeals Dialogue In Somalia Stand-Off

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi

CDF Chief Robert Kibochi has called for dialogue over the Kenya, Somali maritime dispute.

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) boss says Kenya and Somalia have a common border, hence the need for an amicable solution to the dispute.

"Somalia and Kenya are neighbors. We never chose who should be where. There is a need for us to agree to live harmoniously because believe it or not... Somali children go to schools in Mandera, and get health care from the same county."

He however said if dialogue fails, KDF will ensure no inch of Kenya is annexed.

"The 'no inch to spare' policy is a redline which we will not allow anyone to cross. Kenyan assets belong to Kenyans. Ours is to protect and preserve them"' Kibochi said.
