KeNHA apologies over traffic jam

Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) has apologized to motorists over the huge traffic jam at Thika Super Highway.
Director General Engineer Peter Mundinia said the jam was caused by the hoisting of a super structure across the highway.
“Traffic has now normalized.

The garden city weighbridge is the last of the foot bridge superstructure of the four at the super highway by KeNHA”, Mundinia said.

KeNHA says this particular bridge was delicate to hoist because of its unique structure. “t’s a girder bridge, joined with bracing. Transportation and hoisting therefore took longer than anticipated”, Engineer Mundinia said.
