The Kenya National Highways Authority has finalised plans to construct a dual carriage way in Meru Town.
KeNHA dieector general Peter Mundinia has now issued writs to the public to participate in a forum to deliberate way forward for the project.
The road will pass through Gitimbine,Kathita bridge,Meru town,Makutano , Meru national polytechnic and will end at Gitooro show grounds. The other section starts at Makutano,through Kaaga,Kemu Main campus and ends at Ruiru junction.
In a notice, Kenha states that it plans to undertake stakeholder and public consultation meetings i Meru town.
“The participants in the meeting will have the opportunity to air their views, concerns, suggestions and recommendations for enhanced sustainable measure of the project,” states the authority.
The consultation meetings are scheduled to be held on 24th October, 2019 in Ngonyi AP camp and chiefs office and Gitimbine Assistant Chief’s office at 9.00am and 2.00pm respectively.
On 25th October,2019 the meetings will be held at Kinoru stadium and Ruiri Police post at 9.00am and 2.00pm respectively.
Mundinia has engaged the services of Runji consulting group to undertake consultancy services for the feasibility study,Environmental Social Impact Assessment,Social Impactv Assessment,Resettlement Action Plan and detailed plan and preparation of tender documents for rehabilitation of the road.
