Kenya Takes Bold Strides in Reinforcing Public Health Systems

A stakeholder conference centred on the establishment of two innovative centres; the Africa CDC Regional Collaborative Centre and the WHO Regional Emergency and Logistics Hub, was presided over by Mary Muthoni, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards.

Resource mobilisation was given top priority throughout the meeting, with a focus on monetary pledges, technology assistance, and combining knowledge from relevant governmental and non-governmental organisations. Project management techniques that prioritise accountability and openness in the use of resources were discussed.

The PS emphasised that these centres are more than just token acts; they stand for a shared dedication to improving healthcare in Kenya and throughout Africa.

With the goal of promoting information exchange and resource sharing, they hope to become hubs of innovation and collaboration that will transform health through collaborative research, enhanced public health infrastructure throughout the region, and quick response capabilities.
