MOH Seeks Public Input For the Financial Year 2024/25 and Medium-Term Budget

Sector Working Groups, with a focus on transparency and the public involvement mandated by the Constitution, are wrapping up ideas for the FY2024–2025 and Medium-Term Budget.

Citizens discussed their opinions on curative and preventive health services during a public hearing for the Health Sector Budget at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, which was chaired and moderated by the Principal Secretaries of the Ministry of Health, Mary Muthoni for Public Health and Professional Standards and Harry Kimtai for Medical Services.

The government prioritises healthcare prevention as a means of lowering avoidable illness rates.

In line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, the government places a high priority on ensuring that all citizens have fair access to healthcare, placing particular emphasis on achieving universal health coverage through enhanced Primary Health Care.

In order to demonstrate the government’s dedication to promoting a healthier country and meeting citizen needs, the upcoming budget will focus on initiatives that strengthen the four pillars of universal health coverage: health financing, health products and technologies, human resources for health, and digitization of health services.
